OnePlus Pad 2 To Launch On July 16, Equipped With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

JAKARTA - OnePlus Pad is still one of the best Android tablets on the market, but the public has long been waiting for his successor, OnePlus Pad 2. Earlier this week, OnePlus confirmed that it will launch a new tablet on July 16, and now the latest information has emerged about what to expect.

The famous tipster, Ishan Agarwal, has provided detailed specifications for OnePlus Pad 2 on X/Twitter. According to Agarwal, the global version of OnePlus Pad 2 will basically become the OnePlus Pad Pro which was recently launched in China under a different name. Here's what onePlus Pad 2: can expect.

Big news here is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a huge jump from the MediaTek Dimensity chip on the original OnePlus Pad. OnePlus already calls it the'strongest Android tablet', a valid claim for now, as none of the other Android tablets currently use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. chipset.

Physically, OnePlus Pad 2 doesn't change much from the original. Battery capacity, charging speed, and camera setup remain the same. The screen size appears to increase from 11.6 inches to 12.1 inches, possibly achieved by reducing bezel size.

However, the display panel is reportedly still using the IPS LCD despite expectations for an OLED upgrade. Nonetheless, the OnePlus Pad LCD panel is highly valued for its quality, and OnePlus Pad 2 is likely to provide a similar visual experience.

Price details and availability in the US have not been confirmed, but it is estimated that OnePlus Pad 2 will be available in the US soon after its global launch. The original OnePlus Pad was launched at a price below $500 (IDR 8.4 million), and is expected to be a similar price for its successor.

According to Agarwal, OnePlus will also launch Stylus OnePlus Stylo 2 pen, Smart Keyboard, and Folio Case alongside OnePlus Pad 2 in India, and all of these accessories will also be available in the US.

The OnePlus Summer Launch event on July 16 will also feature several other products, including OnePlus Nord 4, Nord Buds 3 Pro, and Watch 2R. It is not yet known which products will be available in the US or even in Indonesia, but it is hoped that all these products will be released there.
