Kominfo Calls Description Key To Open PDNS 2 Data Functioning

JAKARTA - Director General of Informatics Applications of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Samuel Abrijani Pangerapan, said that currently the government is still recovering the Temporary National Data Center.

Semmy also admitted that his team had also tried the PDNS 2 decryption key that had been given by the Brain Cipher ransomware group on Wednesday, July 3 yesterday, and had partially succeeded.

"We also got it, and we have tried it in our specimens, it has been successfully opened. But we don't know yet because there are many keys. It's still being worked on," said Semmy on Thursday, June 4 in Jakarta.

He said that currently the condition of PDNS 2 in Surabaya is still locked and isolated. Because, some more in-depth action is needed.

"It's still detailed that it must be opened. It's been isolated," he said.

Semmy, who felt responsible for this incident, also announced his resignation from the position of Director General of Aptika, Ministry of Communications and Informatics. However, the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi is still processing his resignation letter.

"I stated that as of July 1, I had submitted my resignation verbally and I submitted the letter yesterday to the Minister of Communication and Information," said Semmy.
