YouTube Allows Users To Request AI Content Elimination Using Photos

JAKARTA - YouTube is quietly adding a new policy, which allows users to request the removal of AI-made content if the content displays a resemblance to you.

If someone has used AI to change or create synthetic content that appears or sounds like you, you can request that the content be removed, "wrote YouTube in its new policy discovered by Engadget.

However, the company also insists that in order to qualify for deletion, the content must describe a version that is modified or synthesized realistically from your similarity.

In removing this content, YouTube will also consider many things, such as whether the content is made up of AI or not, whether the content can be identified, to whether content impersonating one of the famous figures is involved in criminal acts or not.

The new policy is included in the violation of YouTube's privacy, not misleading content. The company now requires the claim of the first party in most cases.

The most prominent exception was when the individual was underage, had no access to a computer, or had died.

YouTube will also give the alleged violator 48 hours to follow up on the complaint. If the complaint is deleted during that period, the case is closed. Otherwise, YouTube will review it further.

However, the company explains that this deletion means deleting content completely including deleting individual personal names and information from the title, description, and tag, if applicable.
