JAKARTA Google Vids, a video-making tool based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for work, was introduced at the Cloud Next 2024 event last April. Now, the application has been added to Workspace Labs. With the addition of Google Vids, users registered with Workspace Labs can already test the application. This application is integrated with Docs, Sheets, and Slides to support various work needs such as creating team recapitulation. To use this application, users only need to enter commands that explain the idea of the video, such as the purpose of the video being created, the target audience, to the duration needed. After that, Google Vids will create a storyboard. This storyboard can still be arranged by compiling or deleting certain parts. Users can also add their own points and the ability to choose a style and add any document from Google Drive.

Reporting from 9to5google, the video created will use background video, image, and music stocks. Users can view timelines, user interfaces (UI) video editors, and add voice overs from their own voice or artificial voice. Keep in mind that Google Vids is designed for workers, not for educational purposes. Google will offer an educational version for teachers and maybe students who are free from a future generative AI. Although Google Vids has already launched, this application can only be used by several Personal Google accounts. In the near future, Google plans to bring Google Vids on Gemini for Workspace.
