Report Confluent 2024: 86 Percent Respondents Feel Streaming Data Needs To Be Invested

JAKARTA Confluent launched the 2024 Data Streaming Report with the title Breaking Down the Barriers to Business Agility & Innovation. This report discusses the importance of using streaming data. Rully Moualy, Asia Confluent's Vice President Area, explained that this report was made based on a survey conducted on 4,110 respondents from 12 countries who have streaming data experience. 200 responses among them came from Indonesia. Globally, 86 percent of respondents said that streaming data is a technology that should be prioritized or invested for information technology systems (IT). According to Rully, the results of this survey show the importance of streaming data. "The streaming data allows data that flows in real-time from one application to another and also makes something faster. Not only faster, but also becomes more consistent," said Rully when met on Thursday, June 27. Rully also added that unsynchronized data will provide a barrier to user experience. Therefore, streaming data is the choice of several current companies to create good data infrastructure.

"The demand from consumers who want everything to be instantaneous, want everything to be personalized, want something to have a good user experience, it's very challenging if service providers don't have a qualified data infrastructure foundation," Rully explained. Specific in Indonesia, reports familiar with Confluent streaming data show that 99 percent of IT leaders invest with streaming data platforms to, "encourage their data goals, including data product creation." In addition, 89 respondents believe that streaming data platforms can help companies in driving Artificial Intelligence (AI) advances. The reason is, real-time data foundation development is urgently needed. Global Field CTO Confluent, Kai Waehner, also explains that streaming data in the company was originally built to process very large data, then processed until they can finally store user activity on their phones. "(streaming data) was built on open source 10 years ago and finally can be processed in the form of data logs via mobile phones. So, whenever you do something on mobile phones, information will be entered into streaming data," explained Kai.
