The official visit of the PWI Anti-Hoax Task Force to the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) on Jalan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, was a follow-up to the launch of the PWI Anti-Hoax Task Force by the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie.
The head of the PWI Anti Hoax Task Force, Iqbal Irsyad, together with several administrators namely Dadang Rahmat, Ary Julianta, Berman Nainggolan, Ilham Darmawan, Muhammad Junaid Kamaruddin, Umi Syarifah, and Tundra Meliala, were greeted by the Director General of IKP, Usman Kansong.
Iqbal said that the purpose of the visit was to realize the direction of the Minister of Communication and Information at the launch of the PWI Anti Hoax Task Force. "Our arrival aims to follow up on the previous meeting with the Director General of IKP, namely designing programs that can educate the public about hoax news," said Iqbal.
The PWI Anti Hoax Task Force proposes five main programs aimed at increasing digital literacy and antihoax awareness in the community. These programs include:
1. AYO MOMS MOVE ON: A special digital literacy seminar for mothers to deal with children who are addicted to gadgets
2. PESTA RAKYAT: Open campaign of antihoax literacy through concerts and art performances.
3. POSITIVE FACTORY: Positive content production training aimed at content creators ahead of the Damai Pilkada.
4. KEMAH KEBANGSAAN: The antihoax literacy workshop targeting youth and students, is held in the form of an outbond.
5. TOP ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL: Antihoax literacy workshop for students and female students held in Islamic boarding schools.
Ary Julianta explained that one of the main activities is the National Camp which will involve the younger generation and provide material about awareness of the dangers of hoaxes. He also added the importance of activities involving mothers to reduce children's dependence on gadgets.
"Currently, children and even toddlers are already dependent on gadgets. By targeting parents, it is hoped that children can avoid excessive use of gadgets," Ary added.
