JAKARTA - In the midst of the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi encourages business and the government to make optimal use of AI.

Because according to Budi, optimizing AI can open up opportunities for Indonesia to encourage economic growth, as well as to encourage the progress of the nation.

"Artificial Intelligence is one of the technologies that can be used optimally to encourage the progress of our nation," he said while giving a Key Speech at the AI Application Seminar to Industry and Government, quoted on Sunday, June 16.

Citing the survey results from McKinsey Global Year 2023, Budi Arie said, 79 percent of respondents had been exposed to Generative AI technology.

In addition, 55 percent of global companies have also used AI on their businesses.

Therefore, the Minister of Communication and Information believes that the potential for AI technology shifts the needs of skills and types of work. Where if AI could eliminate 83 million jobs, this technology could also bring 69 million new jobs.

He encouraged all levels of society to continue to build AI skills and their critical thinking skills.

"Both through skills training, as well as through online learning platforms, workshops, and collaboration between educational and industrial institutions," he said.
