Kominfo Writes To X Regarding Pornographic Content, Minister Of Communication And Information: We Will Block It!

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi emphasized that the Ministry of Communication and Information has written to X regarding pornographic content.

"We have written, if we still allow pornography in Indonesia, we will close it, we will block it," said the Minister of Communication and Information at the Minister of Communication and Information Working Meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives on Monday, June 10.

Previously, the owner of platform X or formerly called Twitter, Elon Musk, had allowed pornographic content on his platform. Hearing this decision, the Government of Indonesia, including Kominfo, opposes this.

On the Help Center page X, it is explained that content creators may share nudity photos or videos. They may also share videos containing adult scenes as long as the inside the video has a consent to do so.

"You can share nudity or adult sexual behavior that is produced and distributed in a consensual manner, as long as you are labeled properly and not displayed in a striking way," X wrote of the Adult Content policy.

"For this reason, the Minister of Communication and Information will not be soft on X. Anyway, what is not clear is just brushing, when we are regulated by other countries," said Budi.
