Ketum Aspakrindo-ABI Value Characteristics Of Crypto Assets Becomes Its Own Attractiveness

JAKARTA - The crypto industry continues to show significant growth. As of April 2024, the number of crypto investors in Indonesia has reached 20.16 million people, an increase of about 410.000 people compared to March 2024 as many as 19.75 million people.

Meanwhile, the value of crypto transactions in Indonesia in April 2024 reached IDR 52.26 trillion. The development of the physical trading transaction value of crypto assets in Indonesia in January April 2024 reached IDR 211.1 trillion.

Robby as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and General Chair of Aspakrindo-ABI said the crypto industry has started to be competitive in line with the growth of conventional investment instruments in Indonesia, such as stocks.

"Based on the number of investors, the number of crypto asset investors increased by 7.76 million more than stock investors who recorded 12.4 million investors," Robby said in a statement received on Wednesday, May 29.

Robby also said that Indonesia's stock exchange transaction volume had also decreased since last year and even approached the transaction volume 5 years ago in 2019 due to the current global economic impact.

Thus, Robby sees that this fact shows that public interest in crypto assets can compete in a healthy manner with instruments that come long before crypto assets were traded in Indonesia.

CCO Reku also continued, the characteristics and growth of crypto assets can be an attraction for the public. Moreover, crypto asset instruments can also be reached easily and affordable, starting from Rp. 5,000 only.

A 24-hour crypto market can be transacted at any time with liquid. Then, the crypto ecosystem is also complete with the presence of a Self Regulatory Organization (SRO) such as the Exchange, Clearing, Kustodian, and has been legitimized by taxes. This shows the government's seriousness in prioritizing investor protection," he said.
