JAKARTA Google Meet, a video conferencing platform, launched a new feature called Adaptive Audio. Launched on May 22, this feature is an alternative crowdsourced or online activity to gather ideas.

When meetings are held in a hybrid manner, meeting participants who attend offline usually find it difficult to access video conferencing platforms using different devices in the same room. The reason is, sounds that are not heard can be very annoying.

However, by using Adaptive Audio, teams participating in offline meetings can use their respective devices at close range. This feature will eliminate echoes and audio outputs that interfere with the running of the meeting.

Google explained that this feature will detect the presence of other devices in the same room, then sync the microphone and speaker. With this capability, the audio in the room will be combined and heard coming from one source.

"This allows the team to create an ad-hoc meeting room anywhere with just their laptops so that everyone can be heard clearly, without the need to feel comfortable crowding around a laptop," Google said.

Adaptive audio can be an alternative if the main meeting device is having problems. This feature can be used by a team in a company if, "hardware the meeting room is not working or when there is no special video conferencing equipment in each room".

Features have been launched over a fast release domain on May 22 and will end in 15 days. If you are interested in using this feature, you can activate the feature by going to Settings, tap the Audio menu, then select the Adaptive Audio option.
