JAKARTA - East Ventures together with the Katadata Insight Center have launched the 2024 East Ventures Digital Competitiveness Index (EV-DCI), which is the fifth edition since it was first launched in 2020.

This report sees digital competitiveness in regions in Indonesia continuing to show a positive trend, seen with the EV-DCI 2024 score of 38.1. Increasing from 2023 of 37.8 and 35.2 in 2022.

As in the previous year, the 10 provinces with the highest scores were still dominated by provinces on the island of Java. Sequentially, from the first rank, the 10 provinces are DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, DI Yogyakarta, Banten, Bali, Riau Islands, East Kalimantan, North Sumatra, and Central Java.

EV-DCI maps the regional digital competitiveness through measurements of three sub-indexes, nine pillars, and 50 indicators. The formation sub-index is Input, Output, and Supporting.

The sub-index is composed of the pillars of Human Resources, the Use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), ICT Expenditure, Economy, Entrepreneurship and Productivity, Employment, Infrastructure, Finance, and Regulation and Capacity of the Regional Government.

The highest EV-DCI 2024 score is still held by DKI Jakarta, with a score of 78.2. Meanwhile, in second and third positions occupied by West Java and East Java with a score of 60.0 and 52.3.

Meanwhile, the 10 provinces with the highest ranking in EV-DCI 2024 are no different from those found in EV-DCI 2023, although with different rankings.

In 2024, East Java rose to third place, shifting the position of DI Yogyakarta, which is now ranked fourth.
