Scarlett Johansson Accuses OpenAI Of Deliberately Using A Voice Similar To Her

JAKARTA Scarlett Johansson, the star of the film The Avengers, denied that she voiced the OpenAI chatbot. The actress accused OpenAI of deliberately creating a voice similar to her for the ChatGPT system. Reporting from Reuters, this allegation was made after OpenAI removed the voice known as Sky. Johansson also revealed that Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, tried to approach her in September last year to use her voice. The offer was rejected, but OpenAI actually used a voice very similar to Johansson's. Lucy's film player also said that, "Friends, family, and the general public realizes how the latest system called Sky' sounds similar to me." Johansson admitted that he was very angry with Altman after hearing the released demo. He also did not believe that the company used a voice very similar to it. So similar to it, many did not know that he was not the voice actor. For now, Johansson has hired a legal advisor to ask OpenAI about how the voice was made. The actress did not explain to Reuters whether he would take legal action to sue OpenAI. Meanwhile, Altman said on May 20 that Sky did not use a mock voice from Johansson. In other words, the voice for the ChatGPT system was not made with Artificial Intelligence (AI), but with a different professional actress. "The Sky voice does not belong to Scarlett Johansson, and is never intended to resemble her voice. We chose the voice actor behind Sky's voice before contacting Ms. Johansson," said Altman.

Altman did not explain who the actress had a voice like Johansson did. The OpenAI CEO has temporarily suspended using Sky, but it is not clear whether the company will change her voice to a new one. "In honor of Ms. Johansson, we have temporarily suspended the use of Sky's voice in our product. We apologize to Ms. Johansson for not communicating better," explained the OpenAI leader.
