JAKARTA Apple will hold the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), an annual event for app developers, in June. Reportedly, the company will introduce the latest version of Siri.

Reporting from the New York Times, Apple added a generating Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the latest Siri model. The company deliberately overhauled Siri because they wanted to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Using a generating AI, Siri will become a more communicative virtual assistant, be able to understand the context quickly, and give a more natural and reasonable response. This change will be a huge improvement.

Siri's version, which is currently available and can be used on iPhones to Macs, only uses a question-answer system once. Therefore, Siri often misunderstands user words or commands and gives inappropriate responses.

By changing Siri's foundation, Apple hopes that this virtual assistant can handle various tasks better, such as adjusting timers and making reminders. In addition, there are new features that will be added such as the ability to summarize text messages.

Siri is only one of the changes to be announced at WWDC. Apart from announcing Siri, Apple is expected to announce iOS 18 with changes to its operating system. Apple will also present a variety of AI-based flagship features.

Not much information about the latest features in iOS 18. However, some sources had said that the iOS 18 system would include updates on the home screen, design changes, and adding new functions in various core applications.
