Hyundai-made Flying Taxi For IKN Will Be Tested In July

JAKARTA - Air taxis or sky taxis, which are planned to become smart public transportation in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), will soon be tested in July at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Airport (APT) Pranoto, Samarinda, East Kalimantan.

Before deciding to fly at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Airport (APT) Pranoto, on February 5, a survey visit was provided at two locations at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport (SAMS) Sepinggdan and APT Pranoto Samarinda.

From these results, in March 2024, it was finally decided that APT Pranoto Airport Samarinda would be the location for the Hyundai flying taxi test.

This flying taxi made by Hyundai will be a mode of transportation used to cross to areas that are difficult to reach on land routes to support logistics circulation at IKN.

Meanwhile, previous trials that had been carried out at Curug Airport, South Tangerang, Banten, were produced by Guangzhou EHang Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd.

Before operating at IKN, this flying taxi had to go through several stages of trials, including flight tests.

This mode of transportation is considered more efficient and cheaper. Launching various sources, one flight, the speed of this flying taxi can reach up to 200 kilometers per hour. The cost is around Rp. 750,000.
