JAKARTA - Meta is reportedly working on a new feature that will recommend Instagram Reels to you and friends based on videos shared with each other.

Found for the first time by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, this new Instagram feature is called Blend. Instagram has also confirmed the news to TechCrunch.

Based on screenshots shared on X, this feature will likely allow Instagram to provide Reel recommendations according to the Reel you share with your friends or vice versa, which is also based on your interests.

At first glance, this new Instagram feature is similar to the feature on Spotify of the same name, which was launched in 2021 and allows two people to combine their favorite songs into a joint playlist.

The screenshot also shows that the Blends will be private between you and other users and you can log out of Blend at any time.

Instagram does not share any specific details about the feature and whether the Blends will continue to be updated with new recommendations or will be updated after a certain period of time.
