Lazada Sustainability Academy Awards 2024 Supports Sustainability Efforts For Sellers

JAKARTA LazadaIndonesia, through the business unit Lazada Logistics, held the 2024 Lazada Sustainability Academy Awards. This event was held as one of Lazada's efforts to encourage sustainability. Over the past year, Lazada has been active in deploying various programs that can reduce carbon emissions. Delivered by SVP Logistics Lazada Indonesia Adiputra Wiharja, this sustainability support program is quite diverse, one of which is the reduction of vehicle routes." Supported by technology, we always optimize our delivery routes or rupick ups to make it more efficient, in order to reduce the distance that must be taken and reduce the number of vehicles on the streets," Adiputra said in a panel discussion session. In addition, Lazada also seeks to encourage sustainability by using vehicles that do not use fuels such as bicycles, replacing cardboard with recycled materials, and using environmentally friendly energy in several facilities. "From the perspective of facilcity, we have many facilities spread across many cities in Indonesia. We see how we can use more environmentally friendly energy. So, we use solar panels, we replace the lamp with LED, the things we continue to do," explained Adiputra. Not until there, Lazada also wants to expand this sustainability effort to parasellers. Therefore, they present Lazada Sustainability Academy Awards for, "changing the mindset seller that businesses do not have to go back to the sustainable concept."

Lazada Sustainability Academy Awards, part of the initiative within the framework of the ESG of Lazada Group, awarded a total prize of IDR 100 million. This prize was distributed to fivesellers who won each award. The five winners were selected based on four assessment parameters, namely Purpose, Profit, People, and Planet. Each winner received a prize worth IDR 20 million. This award is expected to support the transformation to sustainable operations.

"We hope that the Lazada Sustainability Academy Awards event can be a catalyst in the adoption of sustainable business models... so as to reduce waste, preserve resources, and contribute to healthier earth," said Adiputra.
