JAKARTA - Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, BPPTIK Kominfo (Information and Communication Technology Training and Development Center, Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia), and Cisco, collaborated to hold a training program in the field of ICT.

This program is part of the Digital Transformation Centers (DTC) Initiatives Framework together with the Connected Generation (GenSi) program, which is a digital skills training for people living in outer regions of Indonesia.

This training is designed for the younger generation and women, which aim to close the digital divide in the country, thereby increasing their productivity and contribution to Indonesia's economic growth.

Held in North Minahasa from 19-21 March 2024, this training program managed to attract the participation of 550 participants directly.

"GenSi is a concrete form of our commitment in connecting and empowering the Indonesian people. We believe that the maximum benefits of technology can be felt if it is supported by empowered human resources," said Steve Saerang, SVP Head of Corporate Communications Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.

Through this program, Indosat together with BPPTIK Kominfo and Cisco continue to strive to close the digital divide in Indonesia. So that it can optimize the existing local potential, and encourage the growth of the digital economy in the country.

"We hope that this program can be the main driver in empowering local communities to actively contribute to the growing digital era," said Hary Budiarto, Head of BPSDM of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia.

In this collaboration, BPPTIK Kominfo acted as a sponsor and facilitator, then Indosat allocated a new debut card with free internet access to support the learning process, and Cisco became its training and curriculum provider through the Cisco Networking Academy.

Cisco provides learning modules that are tailored to GenSi's program needs, such as introduction to cybersecurity, basic internet knowledge, and IoT and digital transformation for entrepreneurs to support GenSi program participants in carrying out digital entrepreneurship.
