JAKARTA - In an effort to increase user transparency and privacy, the Worldcoin Foundation has opened public access to the Orb source code, the slice scanning software which is an important part of the Worldcoin ecosystem.

Now, the code is available on GitHub under a MIT / Apache 2.0 license, allowing individuals to verify their human existence online in a more open way.

The opening of this code coincides with the announcement of a new feature called 'Personal Monitoring'. This feature is designed to give users full control over their personal data.

By using the Orb's private key, users can sign their data package which is then encrypted with a public key before being transferred to their own device. This guarantees that only users who have a key can access and decrypt their biometric information.

Biometric Data Security In The Hands Of Users

This move is part of Worldcoin's efforts to increase trust and security in their crypto ecosystem, especially given the close relationship of this project with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

With a new feature called 'Personal Custody', Worldcoin seeks to limit user interactions with the Orb, thus verifying their World identities in a safer and more private way.

Personal Custody is a private storage area where individuals as crypto assets can manage and control their assets directly by storing their own private keys.
