Supporting The World Water Forum In Bali, Kominfo Prepares Telecommunication Infrastructure And Media Center

JAKARTA - On Monday, March 25, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi met with the President of the World Water Council, HE Loic Fauchon for the final examination ahead of the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in Bali.

"We just coordinated for the preparation of the World Water Forum from 18 to 25 May 2024 in Bali. Because this theme is the 10th World Water Forum, all of them are about water," Budi said after discussing with Loic Fauchon on Monday, March 25 at the Kominfo Office, Jakarta.

In this event, Budi said that the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology would be responsible for providing media centers, preparing telecommunication infrastructure, and also disseminating the event.

"Later, 7000 people will turn off their signals. At least in terms of infrastructure, media centers, and also how to echo the 10th World Water Forum so that it becomes an event that echoes around the world," he said further.

Later, Kominfo will coordinate with all cellular operators in Indonesia including Telkomsel, XL Axiata, Indosat, and Smartfren to provide an internet network of 50 to 100 mbps.

Meanwhile, the 10th World Water Forum media center will be located in the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), with a capacity of up to 1000 journalists. Meanwhile, the number of participants from this event will amount to 7000 participants.

"The participants are not only countries, but also universities, NGOs or CSOs. So in Bali, 15 thousand people can come there, the PUPR estimate. 7OO is a delegation," added Director General of Information and Public Communication Usman Kansong at the same time.
