JAKARTA - Jacob Rothschild, a banker from England, died at the age of 87. He is a member of Rothschild's family who is well-known in the banking world. He is also the president of RIT Capital Partners, an investment trust that invests in various crypto companies and blockchain.

Jacob Rothschild, or Lord Rothschild, was born in Berkshire in 1936. He studied at Eton College and Christ Church College, Oxford. He started his career at the NM Rothschild & Sons family bank in 1963, before establishing RIT Capital Partners in 1989. According to a 2022 report, RIT Capital Partners invested about 2-3% of its portfolio, valued at around IDR 71.7 trillion (equivalent to $4.6 billion), into blockchain-related products. However, the investment value fell by half after the crypto market collapsed at the end of 2022, due to the conflict between FTX, a derivative crypto exchange, and Alameda, a quantitative trading company.
