The Minister Of Communication And Information Will Immediately Follow Up On The Ratification Of The Presidential Regulation Publisher Rights

Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi said he would immediately follow up on the ratification of Presidential Decree Publisher Rights which was signed by President Joko Widodo on February 19.

"As soon as we can formulate it, everything will be informed later. The Presidential Regulation (Presidential Regulation on Publisher Rights) has also been completed," Budi said in a statement, quoted Wednesday, February 21.

Previously, President Joko Widodo had signed a Presidential Regulation on the Responsibility of Digital Platforms to Support Quality Journalism or Presidential Decree 'Publisher Rights' on Monday, February 19, 2024.

In accordance with the President's directives, the Presidential Regulation Publisher Rights will focus on efforts to realize quality journalism, whose goal is to protect and realize quality journalism.

During the 2024 HPN Peak Commemoration, Jokowi stated that this Presidential Regulation had passed a long stage of discussion by discussing and asking for a lot of opinions from the press ecosystem in the country.

"After starting, there is a point of understanding and a common ground, coupled with the urgent Press Council, then representatives of press companies and representatives of media associations also continue to push. Finally yesterday, I signed the Presidential Decree," said Jokowi at the time.
