Six Kominfo Strategic Programs To Accelerate Digital Transformation Bring Significant Impact

JAKARTA - To accelerate digital transformation, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has implemented six strategic work programs, such as the provision of cellular infrastructure in 3T areas, 4G cellular network facilities in non-3T areas, Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS), digital literacy, facilitation of MSME actors, and startup actors.

According to Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi, the six programs have had a significant impact on the community. For example, the program for providing cellular infrastructure in 3T areas has increased 0.9% of village economic growth.

"4G cellular network facilities in non-3T areas have increased 2.6% of village economic growth, and specifically villages on the islands of Sumatra, Java and Bali grew by 11.6%," Budi said in his official statement on Friday, February 16.

Analysis conducted by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics with the LPM of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia also stated that internet access increased the average national exam value for SMA IPA and IPS students, respectively by 9.70% and 9.66%.

Meanwhile, Budi added, the Digital Talent Scholarship Program (DTS) was able to increase the digital literacy rate by 1.4 to 1.8%. Meanwhile, the MSME sector experienced a growth of 1.6% with an average Digital Recognition Index for Businesses.

"The Digital Startup 1,000 Program has an impact in the form of 50 percent startup having been at the level of 9 startup leaders level," he explained further.

Budi also emphasized that Kominfo continues to conduct periodic evaluations of output and outcome during the implementation of this program. This is done to determine the impact of performance accurately in each unit and work unit.

Minister of Communication and Information Budi also emphasized President Joko Widodo's directives so that every work program implementation is carried out carefully and completely.
