CEO Reveals Helldivers 2 Game Development Takes Nearly Eight Years

JAKARTA - Helldivers 2 of Arrowhead Game Studios developers are now available for PS5 and PC. The game has even reached 155,926 players simultaneously on Steam.

Despite some problems at launch, the quality and number of players did not show any signs of slowing down.

Amid his success, studio CEO Johan Pilestedt revealed that they had been developing Helldivers 2 for nearly eight years.

"Okay! Helldivers 2 was finally launched, 7 years, 11 months and 26 days of my life spent making a game that really turned into my favorite film and book joke from my childhood," Pilestedt wrote in his tweet on X.

Over the years, according to GamingBolt, Arrowhead has also been busy adding new content and features to Helldivers 1, from expansion to Dive Harder Edition with new modes like Proving Grounds.

Helldivers 2 itself is a third-person team-based shooter game featuring Helldivers elite troops struggling to win the intergalactic struggle to clear up galaxies from rising alien threats.

From a third-person point of view, you as a player will use a variety of weapons (guns, machine guns, fire emitters) and tactics (ara, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill alien threats.

In addition, players can also set their sights on getting a more accurate first-person camera view.
