JAKARTA Microsoft Edge, a Chromium-based browser, will provide support for downloading extensions on Android devices. Currently, the support has just been released in the experimental version.

By adding extension capabilities, Edge users can install their add-onkebrowser. This extension can maximize the use of crowders, modify views from websites, and block ads from various websites.

Downloading this extension was first discovered by the eleopeva64 account on platform X, then reported by 9to5mac. The account shows that the capability of downloading extensions is available in Edge version 123, but is hidden behind the flugue.

This update can only be used stably in beta by the end of February, while the public version will be launched at the end of March. This launch time has not been confirmed by Microsoft so the time can still change.

So far, the extensions seen in beta are still limited. Some of the extensions that can already be used are Dark Reader, Global Speed, and UBlock Origin. To find these three extensions, users must add extension features first.

First, open the Edge app on the Android device used, then activate the extension by looking for edge://extensions in the address bar. After that, activate the extension feature until the icon of the feature appears in the additional Edge menu.

Although Edge is supported by Chromium software, the results of the collaboration between Microsoft and Google, Chrome has not shown any signs of supporting extensions on mobile devices. Most likely, Google will do the same for Chrome in the future.
