Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi emphasized that people in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost (3T) areas really need access to digital infrastructure.

Therefore, the Ministry of Communication and Information through the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) is ready to hit all obstacles and challenges in the construction of a 4G base transceiver station (BTS) in the area.

The Minister of Communication and Information stated that 4,990 BTS had been built in the 3T area. However, there are still 630 BTS that have not been completed and will be completed in the first semester of 2024. One of the areas that experienced problems with the construction of 4G BTS is Papua.
