JAKARTA - Instagram Head Adam Mosseri announced that Threads currently has a tagtopic or added hashtags in a post. This feature will be rolled out globally.
According to Mosseri, this feature is very useful because it can group a topic specifically. When other people want to find the topic, they just need to open the topic and see similar uploads from various users.
You can categorize your posts and make it easier for other people to find and join the conversation. Try and tell us your response," Mosseri said in a post on Threads.
In fact, this feature has been announced since a few weeks ago by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. At that time, this feature was still a trial and only Australia could feel the update.
Although the way it works is almost like making a hashtag, they introduce this feature as a tagtopic. The results of this tagtopic creation appear with a Hyperlink system that makes the text blue.
Usually, hashtags are used at the end of uploads, both on Instagram and on platform X. Unlike Threads, users can add this feature in the middle of sentences, at the beginning of sentences, or in other parts they want.
To usetagtopics, users must type in the fence first and follow the desired word. When words begin to be typed, this fence sign automatically disappears and turns into Hyperlink.

When typing the word with the hashtag, Threads will provide recommendations for appropriate topics. These recommendations show the number of uploads from each topic, the same as the use of hashtags in general.
Another thing that distinguishestagtopic Threads from other social media hashtags is its use system. Each user can only add onetagtopic in each upload. The word from the tagtopic used can only be uploaded once at a time.
This application is enforced by Meta to limit spam. Therefore, when the user taps the tagtopic Hyperlink, they only see relevant and unperturbed posts with spam like the one in X.
