JAKARTA - In February, Quora launched its AI chatbot called Poe. Now, Quora is introducing a new capability for bot makers at Poe to monetize.

"This program will support prompt bots made directly at Poe, and server bots created by developers who write code and integrate with Poe API," Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo wrote in his announcement.

Today we are launching creator monetization for Poe! This program let any bot creator on Poe generation revenue. This is a major step forward for the platform and is the first program of its kind, so we are very excited to see what it lets everyone create. (thread) pic.twitter.com/feLjB62hYo

Angelo admitted that he had been working on this monetization feature since February. Now, the ability to make this money is already available to Poe users and bot makers on iOS, Android, web, and MacOS.

Based on the announcement shared, there are two ways for bot creators to generate revenue. First, if the bot directs users to subscribe to Poe, the company will immediately share its revenue cuts back to bot creators.

Then, the second way is to involve a bot maker who sets a fee per message, which Quora will pay for each message.

"With this step, we hope Poe can realize a developing economy with a variety of AI products," hoped the CEO further.

In addition, we also hope that later all types of bots can function properly, in various fields such as tutoring for learning, knowledge, therapy, entertainment, assistants, analysis, storytelling, role games, and making pictures, videos, music, and other media.

Quora mentions that creator monetization when it's only available to residents in the US. However, they promised to expand it to other countries in the future. You can start in poe.com/creators, or learn how to make bots in developer.poe.com.
