Meta Is Testing Their Ability To Mark Locations On Instagram Notes

JAKARTA - Meta Platform Inc. announced that they are now testing the ability to tag locations in Instagram Notes.

Announced by Instagram Head Adam Mosseri on Wednesday, September 6, in addition to adding text notes and songs, Notes will in the future support location tagging.

"We're testing people's ability to tag locations in Notes. People use notes to share thoughts, moods, and even places," Mosseri wrote in his broadcast channel on Instagram.

Mosseri said that it is hoped that this ability will help you connect with each other, and be able to share your hangout places for the inspiration of many people.

"We want to make it easier for you to connect with your hangouts, get new inspiration about places to visit, and more," he added.

Previously, Mosseri also announced a trial to be able to add voice notes or so-called audio notes to Instagram.

Even so, Mosseri stressed that where at this time they have not tested the new feature openly to anyone. But, this feature might be the next update in the future.

Mosseri also created a poll on his broadcast channel, asking whether Instagram users around the world are interested in Notes' new feature to add a location or not.

Based on VOI's monitoring this afternoon, as many as 5.2 thousand people voted "yeah" for this feature, and 4 thousand people voted "nope."
