JAKARTA - It was first reported by Bloomberg that social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, will begin collecting user biometric data including education and work.

Now, X has confirmed that the data and other data will later be used to train its artificial intelligence (AI) model.

The privacy policy clearly shows that the company plans to use the information it collects, along with any publicly available data, to help train machine learning algorithms.

X said on its privacy policy site that apart from being used to improve and personalize products and services suitable for each user, the data will also be used for training on its machine learning model.

"We can use the information we collect and the publicly available information to help train our machine learning model or artificial intelligence for the purposes outlined in this policy," X wrote on the site, quoted Sunday, September 3.

On the other hand, X also plans to launch video and audio calls when his owner, Elon Musk, is trying to build an "alphatics of everything" to stay ahead in competition with Threads owned by Meta Platforms Inc.

After changing Twitter's name to X, Musk signaled that he would turn the platform into a super app that offers various services ranging from messages and social networks to payments between individuals.
