JAKARTA - Instagram is testing a feature where users can tag a group of people in Stories with just one name.

Through its announcement on the IG Updates channel, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri explained users would soon be able to add many of their friends to create a group.

Instead of having to tag people one by one in Stories, they can call the group fast and save time.

"We're testing how to tag a group of people in a Stories using one mention. Once you create a group mention, it can be reused by anyone in the group to automatically tag everyone in the new story," Mosseri said.

"So if you're on a summer trip with friends, it's easier for you to include everyone without the need to tag each person one by one," he added.

Their notifications are tagged to be sent to all group members and posts can also be re-partitioned on their Stories.

However, users won't be able to re-sharing a Stories even if they are mentioned if the creator has deactivated the re-sharing in Stories.

Until now, there is no way to remove mention from a Stories, although users can report it.

Launching Phone Arena and Gadget360, Saturday, August 12, rumors say Instagram is reportedly planning to penetrate AI-powered chatbots into its app, as a way to lure new users and keep old users.
