Priceline Gandeng Google To Improve User Experience Through AI Technology

Priceline, an online travel company that is part of Booking Holdings, plans to launch a more sophisticated chatbot for planning travel and providing hotel suggestions similar to user-adapted "private servants". They will use the technology of artificial intelligence (AI) a generative of Google's cloud division to develop these tools.

In this partnership, Google will provide access to Priceline to use generative AI technology, such as the technology behind ChatGPT which is capable of compiling text as if written by humans. These tools can also extract information such as hotel prices from existing data to ensure the accuracy of the information.

Priceline will use Google's AI technology to help in various ways, including providing hotel advice to users looking for hotels close to specific places such as Christmas markets or vegan restaurants in New York. In addition, Google's AI technology will also be used to provide marketing advice on popular destinations.

The use of Google's AI technology is expected to give Priceline the lead in competition in the online travel market which is widely followed by multiple sites, including Google itself. Google sees AI's potential as a way to reduce gaps with competitors such as Amazon and Microsoft in cloud services.

Martin Brodbeck, CTO Priceline, revealed that Google Cloud will help Priceline in various aspects, including providing hotel booking suggestions to users, producing codewriting suggestions for software developers, as well as improving search capabilities in corporate intranets.
