But now, the Meta-owned social network claims to have fixed an issue that was causing Facebook to send out friend invites whenever a user visited any profile.

Meta stated the bug appeared after the company rolled out an app update, "We have stopped this from happening and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," Meta told The Daily Beast.
