Spotify Removes Heardle Twins Wordle Game

Heardle, Wordle's inspired music guessing game will soon be closed by the owner, Spotify. The game, acquired by the company in July 2022.

"Thank you for playing Heardle, but unfortunately we have to say goodbye. Starting May 5, Heardle will no longer be available," wrote the message.

"If you have statistics you want to save, make sure you open statistics and take screenshots no later than May 4, after which users cannot access them."

However, Spotify did not provide a detailed reason, the company told TechCrunch that removing Heardle they could focus more on developing new features for music discovery.

"After careful consideration, we have made a difficult decision to say goodbye to Heardle as we focus our efforts on other features for the discovery of music," said a Spotify spokesperson.

Heardle is one of many games that successfully launched after the Wordle explosion. To play, users listen to the intro of a song and have six attempts to guess the artist and the title that Heardle plays.

After Spotify acquired, Heardle's monthly visitors began to fall. Fortunately, according to Engadget, there will be no termination of employment (PHK) due to the game's closure.
