JAKARTA - Microsoft is reportedly developing a new feature to allow users to send and receive crypto assets via its built-in web browser. According to a BleepingComputer report, Albacore software documents share a screenshot of a new Ethereum wallet that Microsoft plans to integrate into its Edge browser.

According to a DailyHodl report, Microsoft will launch a non-custodical crypto wallet that provides users with exclusive controls over their assets and private keys. This means users can manage and store their own assets without going through third parties.

Microsoft stated that this wallet is embedded in the Edge browser, making it easy to use without requiring other extension installations. In addition, users can also purchase crypto assets using the Coinbase digital asset exchange and web3 infrastructure company MoonPay.

Screenshots also show support for exploring the NFT marketplace, news feed features, and options for users to choose between Edge's built-in wallet or extension wallet to manage their assets.

When asked for further information, a Microsoft spokesperson told BleepingComputer that they regularly test new features to explore new experiences for their customers. They hope to learn and collect feedback from their customers, but have no further information to share at this time.

This new feature developed by Microsoft is in the spotlight for crypto enthusiasts, as it indicates that cryptocurrencies are increasingly accepted and integrated into mainstream technology. However, as with everything related to digital assets, users must remain cautious and secure their own funds because there is no full security guarantee in the crypto world.

While Microsoft has confirmed testing this new feature, they haven't provided much information about the release time or availability of this feature. However, this could be an important step for other major tech companies to get into the crypto industry and increase the adoption of crypto assets among mainstream users.
