JAKARTA - At the end of 2022 yesterday, Twitter reintroduced the Community Notes feature which was launched as a rebranding of features that have existed since 2021.

At the start of its launch, the Community Notes Twitter was only available for contributors (authors) from the United States. However, Twitter now allows users in Brazil to become contributors to the Community Notes.

"Welcome contributors to Brazil! We are excited to bring Community Notes to one of the largest communities on Twitter, and the first to write and assess notes especially in different main languages," Twitter wrote on Friday, March 3.

This feature is used to help users avoid misinformation and hoaxes. This feature is a large-scale fact-checking system with the crowdsource method. With this method, anyone in the Community Notes program can participate in correcting information that may be misleading or hoaxes.

In its February update, Twitter launched a new capability that allows Community Notes to let you know if you're involved (likes, retweets, reply) with fake tweets.

"Starting today, you will get a notification if the Community Notes begin to appear in Tweets that you have replied to, Sukai, or Retweets. This helps give people additional contexts they may miss," wrote Elon Musk's social media last month.

So, when you reply, like, or retweet a post, Twitter will reply to your tweets with the Community Notes to find out the truth of that context.
