JAKARTA - The first-generation Asus ROG Phone users have to swallow a little disappointment. Because Asus announced that the gaming cellphone released in 2018 will not get an operating system (OS) update to Android 10.

Launching the Gizmochina page, the Asus ROG Phone with model number ZS600KL only gets OS updates twice, from Android 8.1 (Oreo) and then updated to Android 9.0 (Pie).

This means that it has been more than a year since the first generation ASUS ROG Phone has not received an Android OS update. This information is known from the moderator ASUS ZenTalk.

"This confirms that there are no plans to update Android 10 for the ZS600KL," he said, as quoted, Friday, January 8.

It is known, the first generation Asus ROG Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is Qualcomm's flagship processor in 2018. And three years after its release, the chipset is still capable enough to support cellphone performance.

Even so, several major vendors have received the Android 10 OS update. Even the POCO F1, which is sold at a much cheaper price than the ASUS ROG Phone, has received the Android 10 update, a year ago.
