JAKARTA - Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT have recently taken control of various industries, including the latest one being Amazon Kindle's virtual bookstore.

At least 200 e-books on the Amazon Kindle Store list ChatGPT as writers or co-authors. But the number is estimated to be more than that.

This is due to Amazon's policy of not requiring writers to disclose whether they have used AI or not.

With the creation of an e-book made by ChatGPT, is the latest example of an AI-made article that has flooded the market and has played a role in ethically doubtful content since the release of the free tool made by OpenAI in November last year.

The books made by ChatGPT were published through the issuance of the Kindle Direct Amazon, and have released more than 1.4 million self-published books each year and sold them together written by famous writers.

One of the authors of the new children's book, Brett Schickler talks about the advantages of using the software.

"The idea to write a book finally seemed possible. I can see people making an entire career out of this," Schickler told Reuters, quoted Thursday, February 23.

His book, The Wise Little Squirel: A Tale of Saving and Investment, was written using ChatGPT and aimed at helping children learn the basics of finance.

But so far, he only made $100 for the project, but Schickler plans to write more books with the help of AI.

Another example of an AI-made e-book on the Amazon Kindle Store includes a children's story The Power of Homework, a collection of poetry entitled Echoes of the Universe, and a science fiction epic about an interstellar merchant, Galactic Pimp: Vol. 1.

ChatGPT has become very popular since the end of 2022 when OpenAI began allowing free public testing. Microsoft recently through its Bing service also embeds chatbot technology.

Even with Google releasing its Bard AI chatbot trial, which sometimes also proves inaccurate. Of course, this technology is quite worrying if people use it to write novels, especially when its use is not recognized.
