JAKARTA - Discord messaging application installed on Personal Computer (PC) and running Nvidia graphics card is reportedly working slower than usual.
Many users have complained about the incident on the Reddit forum andrt Tech Tips. They see the speed of memory clocks on Nvidia graphics cards reduced by 200MHz.
And it turns out that Discord is the cause, most likely it happened due to a recent Discord update, which adds support for AV1 streaming on the GPU Seri GeForce RTX 40.
GeForce users can now download an app profile update for Discord. This resolves a recent issue where some GeForce GPUs memory clocks did not reach full speed w/ Discord running in the background. The update automatically downloads to your PC the next time you log into Windows. pic.twitter.com/89nwugWQFF

On average, the problem comes as users are playing games, of course, this is very annoying, considering that Discord was created to help users talk to friends while playing games.
However, the memory slowdown is not limited to the RTX 40 card, but RTX 3080 and RTX 3060 Ti.
The good news is that Nvidia has rolled out a fix to a newly discovered problem where Discord is open in the background, which limits the performance of some graphics cards, as quoted by The Verge, Saturday, February 4.
According to a company's tweet, the system's fix can be downloaded automatically when users enter Windows. So, they don't have to bother downloading graphics drivers or other software updates manually.
Nvidia stated that the repair was present as an application profile update. Previously, the company applied it manually, but the process was not so easy and involved downloading profile managers and then exporting, editing, and re-importing profiles.
