JAKARTA - Shortly after the release of the Mistlands Valheim update, developer Iron Gate Studio also revealed details about what is next being worked on and what will be coming to the game.

In a recent post, the developer stated a next, bigger biome update, called Ashlands.

"Our next major biome update is Ashlands, and we've started pre-production of that biome by creating some concept art and trying to achieve the feel we want for the biome," said Iron Gate.

According to him, it will be very different from what he is used to, given that the Ashlands are a large chunk of land at the southern end of the map, rather than the smaller islands scattered around the world. The new biome will be the "land of the dead", and will also have volcanic features.

Valheim will be getting an Xbox release earlier this year, along with that, the developer is also with crossplay support, which will let you play with your friends on other consoles.

More than that, at the time of release, the developer will also add several new difficulties with two new enemies that will be present in the game, namely Charred and Morgen.

Later, the studio has also revealed that, unlike how it worked quietly on the Mistlands update, this Ashlands update will be more transparent, and give players a better idea of the progress of the update.

The game is slated to get other features as well, such as a new difficulty setting, and a major new feature called Hildir's Quest.

Hildir's Quest will feature new outfits as rewards for players, as well as the addition of the titular Hildir as an NPC. Valheim has been out on PC for quite some time now, and now console players will also get to experience the game's excitement.
