JAKARTA South Korea's blockchain-based game development company Wemade announced its investment in one of DRX's leading esport teams. The effort is aimed at strengthening the fan community with esport organizations.

Wemade aims to integrate DRX fan culture into its blockchain gaming ecosystem, WEMIX. This is part of an effort to expand its reach and introduce Web3 to DRX fans.

For information, DRX is one of the world's leading esports teams, with more than 3.7 million fans. This strategic investment can connect most of the fan bases to the Wemade blockchain gaming platform.

Since turning to Web3 gaming in 2018, Wemade has actively expanded its ecosystem. They have incorporated new games into their blockchain gaming ecosystem, WEMIX PLAY. Currently, the Korean blockchain gaming ecosystem hosts interesting play to earn (P2E) titles, including Ocean Tales 2, Gold Club, and Abyssrium Gold.

Recently, Wemade earned more than 46 million US dollars from tech giant Microsoft, alongside Shinhan Asset Management and Kiwoom Securities. While it has not been determined why Microsoft is investing in the developer of this Korean game, Wemade has been dedicated to its roadmap, innovating and building in this area.

Wemade is piloting the world of Korean esports to expand its ecosystem. Esports has become a major part of Korean culture as it drains some of the world's best players.

Lee Sang-hyeok's "Faker" Lee 'Rogue' Yeol, Heo "Showmaker" Su, and Kim "Doinb" Tae-sang are some of the big names sticking out of Korean esports. Fakers andriks are each two best players of all time in League of Legends and Starcraft.

Esports in Korea is a serious business, as the country is full of cyber cafes called PC bangs. Not surprisingly, some of the best players in the world pioneered their early journey in these internet cafes.

Currently, esports is a crypto partnership center, with competitors such as Team SoloMid (TSM) which previously collaborated with FTX. Considering a decorated and well-established Korean esports culture, Wemade's collaboration with DRX is a step in the right direction.

DRX no doubt has some of the best teams in the world today. In League of Legends, they fought all the obstacles by beating Korean champions Gen G and their favorite T1 team to win the title. Their Valorant team has recorded 103 wins and four draws since their debut and now has 22 championships under their belts.

The integration of DRX's fan culture into the Web3 Wemade ecosystem is a big step for game organizations and developers. Henry Chang, CEO of Wemade, shares, "Esports is perfect for blockchain because it has developed futuristically through repeated technical innovations." Chang added, "Through NILE, WEMIX's DAO & NFT platform, we will solve the digital economy that connects gaming, entertainment, sports, arts and finance," as reported by Daily Coin.
