JAKARTA - Last June, Square Enix officially released the latest trailer for Final Fantasy XVI and said that the title had entered the final stages of development.
Final Fantasy XVI director Hiroshi Takai even said that his team is focusing on the final polish heading into its 2023 release for the PlayStation 5.
Recently in an interview with Everyeye.it, Takai revealed that players will spend around 30 - 40 hours to complete the Final Fantasy XVI game.
"Dedicating yourself solely to history you can finish a game in about 35-40 hours," he said in an interview conducted.
According to him, there will be a lot of optional content to explore during the first game. However, players will experience most of the content without having to complete Final Fantasy XVI first.
"At this time we don't have a precise estimate, but we have also resolved a variety of secondary content that should be achieved by the overall longevity threshold of about 70 hours," he explained.

Not only that, but since Final Fantasy XVI will be an exclusive game for the PS5, Takai says that the game will use features like DualSense and 3D audio, and even haptic feedback.
"Absolutely yes. We practically exploited all the unique features of the PlayStation 5. Since Final Fantasy XVI is an action game based on swordsmanship rather than gunplay, adaptive triggers are not pushed to the limit," he replied.
Nonetheless, Takai and his team have integrated appropriate and natural features to enhance the immersiveness offered by the game.
"For example that haptic feedback is activated when some action is used that triggers the power of the Eikon or for that matter in a large scale battle between the Summons themselves," he concluded.
