JAKARTA - Tinder, the most popular social search service app, announced its partnership with dog shelters across the US, in honor of National Dog Week (September 18-24).
With this partnership, Tinder gives users the ability to add shelter dogs to find new owners or places to their profile.
Tinder partnered with five animal shelters on this feature, including Wags & Walks in Los Angeles, 4 Paws Kiddo Rescue (L.A.), NYC Animal Care Center, Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago, and Special Pals in Houston.
According to the company, Dog Lover is one of the top 10 Interests added to a Tinder profile, and a recent survey found that 60% of people said they were more tempted to match someone with a dog in their dating profile photo.

"This National Dog Week, Tinder is better able to help people find love and help dogs in need find new homes. Both are looking for the perfect match," said Melissa Hobley, Tinder's CMO in an announcement Wednesday, September 21.
How Does This New Feature Work?
- Members can view and like Rescue Matches profile cards in their Tinder deck or visit rescuematches.com
- Once there, they can upload photos which will be filtered to include available pictures, locations, and dog adoption details
- Adding a photo to their Tinder profile will help potential partners also become potential pet parents.
