JAKARTA - The world's most advanced attack submarine, which can destroy a land target of up to 1,000 miles (1600 km) away, has joined the British Royal Navy fleet.

The submarine, HMS Anson, is armed with 38 Spearfish and Tomahawk Block V cruise missiles, and is worth £1.3 billion.

These submarines are equipped with weapons to destroy enemy ships and submarines, collect intelligence data and protect other Royal Navy ships from above or under ocean waves.

The hunter-killer (hunter killer) submarine was officially welcomed to service during a commissioning ceremony at BAE Systems' yard in feasibility, Cumbria, this week.

Anson is the fifth ship of a new 'Astute'-class attack submarine to join the fleet, described as the largest and most advanced ever operated by the British Navy.

Commander David Crosby, the ship's first commander, said that HMS Anson would continue to be the best Astute-class submarine.

Among the fierce competition is a bold claim, but I fully believe; this ship will be successful in operations over the years to come and be 'buried' by countries around the world, she was quoted as saying by Mail Online.

"The luck of being the commander of the most advanced attack submarine and once built in England on its commissioning day is the greatest honor in my submarine career," Crosby added.

HMS Anson can reach speeds of more than 30 knots (55 km/h), and is fully equipped to destroy enemy military infrastructure both on land and at sea.

The length of this ship is 318 feet or 97 meters and has room for 98 crew members who each have their own beds and rooms.

Armed with the Rolls food onboard nuclear reactor, it means the ship does not need to be refueled during its 25-year service period.

This submarine can also purify water and air, so the time underwater will only be limited by the amount of food in it, meaning it will be able to circumnavigate the world without reappearing to the surface.

This ship was built for about 20 million working hours for 11 years to make the ship weighing 7,800 tons ready for action. This ship is even claimed to be more complex than the International Space Station.

Anson is named after Admiral George Anson, an 18th-century Royal Navy officer who traveled four years around the world and led victory against France in Cape Finisterre in 1747.

At the naming ceremony in December 2020, a bottle of apple juice was pounded into the stomach because Admiral Anson liked the drink as a kudis medicine.

The submarine was launched from lefturshire Dock Hall in April 2021 and dropped off to Wet Dock, where engineers and crew have tested equipment and optimized its systems.

In February, Anson did a dive in leftover that allowed personnel to check their balance when they sank, as well as a diving/surface system, weighing tanks, depth sensors, sonar.

First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir Ben Key, said: 'Given the world we live in, there is no more important tool in the British arsenal: silence, absence, and key instruments of our Royal Navy that are global, modern, and ready.

"HMS Anson is at the forefront of submarine design and construction and ensures operational excellence in underwater combat spaces, the last stealth domain is great," he added.

"The Royal Navy's nuclear submarine: protecting critical national infrastructure, securing nuclear defenses, and is ready to deliver fire against those who would harm us," he explained.
