Google Uses New AI Model To Generate More Accurate Information In Its Search Engine

JAKARTA - Every day, people turn to Google to find whatever information they need. Google always strives to provide accurate information to its users.

Since 2020, Google has designed its ranking system to allow its system to bring up more reliable and more relevant Information, from trusted sources.

Now, Google announced that they have a significant upgrade for their search engine by using the latest AI model namely, Multitask Unified Model (MUM)

"With MUM, our system can now understand the notion of consensus, which is when several high-quality sources on the web all agree on the same fact," Google said on its blog.

Google hopes that with the new AI model implemented, they can ensure that the highlighted information is reliable and accurate.

Google search AI will bring up larger fonts to show featured information snippets against high-quality sources on the web.

"We found that this consensus-based technique has significantly improved the quality and usability of featured snippet invocations," the tech giant continued.

But, what if the top answer comes from a fake source?

The company revealed, to address the issue, Google changed its Search AI so that this particular update will reduce snippet triggers for that type of information by up to 40 percent.

"This improvement has reduced snippets from appearing for such a false premise by about 40%," Google explained.

In addition to improving the accuracy of its featured snippets, Google is also expanding its content advisor options. If you don't know what a content advisor is, it's a notification that pops up when someone searches for the latest news or items involving a rapidly evolving topic.

In this case, Google will give you a note at the top of the screen saying that the results you are looking for change quickly. Its function is to help stop the spread of false information related to the headlines.
