Bundesliga Club Borussia Monchengladbach Eyeing Kevin Diks

JAKARTA - The German club that plays in the Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach, is said to be interested in recruiting the Indonesian National Team player, Kevin Diks.

This is as reported by Sky Sports Germany. Quoted on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the media said that Monchengladbach had targeted Kevin Diks to add strength to their back line.

"Borussia Monchengladbach is looking for a center back. Together with Ko Itakura, Nico Elvedi, and Marvin Friedrich, Die Fohlen has three experienced center backs."

"There is also the future center back Fabio Chiarodia who is only 19 years old. However, Gladbach still needs more help," opened the Sky Sports narrative.

"Kevin Diks is an interesting name on the list. The Indonesian international player was a hot topic last summer. However, his transfer did not materialize," continued Sky Sports' statement.

Currently, Kevin Diks is still wearing the FC Copenhagen uniform, but his contract will expire in June 2025.

If the 28-year-old defender does not extend his cooperation with the Danish club, then Diks can move to Gladbach for free next season.

However, Sky Sports Germany said that Monchengladbach's chances of recruiting Diks in the middle of this season are still open.

Moreover, the five-time Bundesliga champion club is competing quite tightly in the German League this season.

"The 28-year-old player is 1.86 meters tall and is only under contract with FC Copenhagen until the summer of 2025. After that, he will be available for free."

"Diks has also been an option for Gladbach in the winter. Because the defender's contract is about to expire, the transfer fee should be quite low," wrote Sky Sports.

On the other hand, Monchengladbach's efforts to get Kevin Diks in the middle of this season have not been smooth.

The reason is, FC Copenhagen currently relies heavily on the Indonesian National Team defender to maintain the team's position which is currently at the top of the Danish Super League standings.
