JAKARTA - A German club that runs in the Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach, is said to be interested in recruiting Indonesian national team player Kevin Diks.

This is as reported by Sky Sports Germany. Quoted on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the media said that Monchengladbach had targeted Kevin Diks to increase their back line strength.

"Borussia Monchengladbach is looking for a centre-back. Together with Ko Itakura, Nico Elvedi, andMINAn Friedrich, Die Fohlen has three experienced defenders."

"There is also a future centre-back Fabio Chiarodia who is only 19 years old. However, Gladbach still needs more help," said the Sky Sports narrative.

"Kevin Diks is an interesting name on the list. The Indonesian international player has become a hot topic last summer. However, the transfer did not materialize," continued Sky Sports' statement.

Currently Kevin Diks is still in FC Copenhagen uniform, but his contract expires in June 2025.

If the 28-year-old defender does not renew his cooperation with the Danish club, then Diks can move to Gladbach for free next season.

However, Sky Sports Germany said the opportunity for Monchengladbach to recruit Diks in the half of this season remains open.

Moreover, the five-time Bundesliga champions are competing quite tightly in the German League this season.

"The 28-year-old has a height of 1.86 meters and is only under contract with FC Copenhagen until the summer of 2025. After that, he will be available for free."

"Diks has also become an option for Gladbach in winter. Since the defender's contract is coming to an end, the transfer fee should be quite low," wrote Sky Sports.

On the other hand, Monchengladbach's efforts to get Kevin Diks in the half of this season were also not smooth.

The reason is, FC Copenhagen currently relies heavily on the Indonesian national team defender to maintain the position of the team which is now at the top of the Danish Super League standings.
