Huawei Successfully Launches HarmonyOS 3 Update, Along With The Release Of Chuxing's Ride Hailing Petal App!

JAKARTA – The Chinese technology giant, Huawei, recently rolled out an update to its HarmonyOS operating system. The operating system is present in its latest version, namely HarmonyOS 3. The launch is still released even though Huawei has been sanctioned by the United States.

HarmonyOS 3 is the third generation of Huawei's operating system and comes with a number of improvements for various devices including smartphones, tablets, printers, cars and a number of smart home devices, one of which is television.

The company announced the upgrade at a launch event held on Wednesday, July 27. In addition to launching the operating system, Huawei also announced the launch of Petal Chuxing, a ride-hailing platform that is carried out with third parties. The Chuxing Petal runs on the HarmonyOS 3 operating system.

Later the ride-hailing application can be operated on a number of Huawei-made devices including smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. Commenting on the emergence of the new app, Huawei said that Petal Chuxing "is not intended to compete with anyone," according to the South China Morning Post.

However, currently, the Chinese market is controlled by another online transportation company, Didi Chuxing Global. As is known, the ride-hailing company has just been sanctioned by Chinese regulators regarding cybersecurity issues. Didi Chuxing was fined 1.2 billion US dollars.

Huawei decided to bring its new online transportation platform Petal Chuxing together with the release of the third-generation HarmonyOS operating system upgrade.

Huawei first launched the HarmonyOS operating system in August 2019. HarmonyOS was released after Huawei was blacklisted by the US. After that, Huawei was cut off from the global technology business environment, one of which was Google.

Therefore, Huawei smartphones no longer use a number of services from the US company, such as Google Android, Chrome, Maps, Gmail, and so on. To anticipate the possibility of the company's collapse due to the sanctions, Huawei launched its own operating system called the Hongmeng operating system or better known as HarmonyOS.
