JAKARTA - The electric car maker from the United States, Tesla, will halt production for two weeks at its new manufacturing plant at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg.

The newspaper Handelsblatt reported, citing German trade unions, that the temporary production halt would begin Monday (11/7).

Employees at the company called the Gigafactory in Gruenheide were notified of the production pause some time ago.

Union IG Metall told the paper that the break would be used to defend the plant.

Tesla was not immediately available for comment on the matter. This was quoted by Reuters on Sunday.
