Win Six Medals At SEA Games 2021, This Is A Bonus From President Jokowi For Indonesian Esports Athletes

JAKARTA - The 2021 SEA Games have ended. The Indonesian Esports National Team managed to get a total of six medals from eight match numbers in 10 categories.

The details of the medals for the Indonesian National Team are two gold, three silver and one bronze. Two gold was won by the Free Fire category and PUBG Mobile for the team category.

Three silvers from the Free Fire, PUBG Mobile Solo and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang categories, and one bronze from the Crossfire category.

Monday, June 13, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, received and gave an appreciation bonus to the athletes of the 31st SEA Games Vietnam, at the Merdeka Palace.

"Out of 499 athletes, 408 won medals. This means, 82 percent of the athletes we sent brought medals back to the country. If we look at it, as I said before before leaving, in 2015 we were ranked 5th, 2017 ranked 5th , 2019 ranked 4th, and now we are in 3rd place even though we only sent 499 athletes," said the President, quoted from Instagram @timindonesiaofficial.

In addition to giving appreciation, Jokowi also handed over bonuses to athletes, coaches, and assistant coaches. The 2021 SEA Games athletes were given money with a total of approximately IDR 130.5 billion. Meanwhile, coaches and assistant coaches amounted to Rp. 32 billion.

Jokowi gave bonuses and symbolic appreciation to representatives of medal-winning athletes from 9 sports. For esports, Jokowi gave it to Gian Kurnadi, the bronze medalist in the esports team, a bonus of Rp. 105 million.
