JAKARTA - Gearbox Publishing and developer Blackbird Interactive have decided to postpone the release of the sci-fi real-time strategy game Homeworld 3, which was originally scheduled for December 2022.

User satisfaction is a factor in this delay. They want to deliver games of the highest quality.

"Delivering Homeworld 3 of the highest quality is a top priority for Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive as we recognize the special place this series holds in the hearts of players," the developer said in the announcement.

The developers will be postponing it until the first half of 2023. While this delay is a disappointment to fans, it seems that both Blackbird Interactives don't want their team to rush into polishing the game.

"The passion from these players drives the work and the extra time will allow us to fulfill our commitment to quality in a way that is healthy and sustainable for all involved."

Currently, Blackbird Interactive is building the Homeworld game that players have always dreamed of. They said they would share a more in-depth look at Homeworld 3 during gamescom later this summer.
