JAKARTA - Seeing that its Clubhouse-style Live Audio feature is in great demand by content creators, LinkedIn has now decided to expand this feature on its platform.

This feature was first launched in beta in January, and now LinkedIn will open up hosting capabilities to all creators.

That means, the company gives all Creator Mode users access to its audio space options as long as they stay in line with the platform's community policies to be a trusted, secure and professional content provider.

LinkedIn Live Audio is very similar to Clubhouse or Twitter Spaces, with the capacity to host audio discussions within the app.

With the capacity to facilitate professional connections in meetings, industry-aligned discussions, and move in line with the broader WFH shift, audio sessions within LinkedIn can be a valuable addition.

The company says content creators are already using the Live Audio feature to expand their professional network, connect with potential clients and reach new followers.

A live video-centric event is also in the works, though LinkedIn hasn't provided an update on when it will launch.

In addition to the Live Audio feature, LinkedIn is also adding a new option for Creator Mode users to add a link to the top of their LinkedIn profile, so viewers can learn more about and their brand.

LinkedIn also wants to help content creators build their audience, both on the platform and beyond, with new ways to share quick links to creators' LinkedIn profiles that can be embedded on websites and blogs, or forwarded in email.

"With just one click, someone's audience can immediately follow them on LinkedIn from their other platforms, making it easier to find content on LinkedIn," LinkedIn said.

There's also a new follow button in the main feeds and search results to help connect users with relevant voices directly, while searches on specific companies or topics will now also include recommendations for people who talk about those topics frequently to follow.

Lastly, LinkedIn will now automatically add users as followers if they send a connection request to a Creator Mode enabled user.

Launching Engadget, Thursday, June 9, these features roll out as LinkedIn steps up its efforts to become a more creator-centric platform. The company says more than 10 million people use Creator Mode, nearly double the 5.5 million who used it in March.
